Tungsten Carbide Sawtooth Bits are manufactured with carbide inserts set into a sawtooth surface pattern similar to a saw blade to allow for maximum rate of penetration.

Insert Bits

Tungsten Carbide Insert Bits are manufactured with carbide inserts set into a powdered metal matrix similar to that used for surface set diamond bits. Unlike the sawtooth, the inserts are set down closer to the flat surface of the bit face.

Crackerjack Bits

Crackerjack Carbide Bits have large pieces of special tungsten carbide material set in a matrix in the same manner as a diamond bit - except at a much lower cost!

In keeping with Hoffman's strategy to be at the cutting edge of diamond bit and tool technology, the application of polycrystalline diamond compacts was an early priority. PCD tools are generally run on drills with higher torque and lower RPM than Surface Set or Impregnated Bits
