FINGER BIT TYPE MULTI-PURPOSE
A tough, multi-purpose auger head for full range drilling. Uses replaceable borium or carbide insert bits depending upon
the formation encountered. Borium tip bits are suitable for work in
light to moderate soil formations such as silt, sand, fine gravel and shale. Tungsten carbide bits are used for more abrasive conditions or for longer bit life in any of the above formations, but are not recommended for non uniform formations such as gravel where impact or shock might be encountered. Bits are held in place by malleable iron bit wedges that deform as necessary to grip bits within the head. Cutterhead sizes are identified by the hole size, not actual flight diameter.
