Shur - Pel

                                          Bentonite Pellets

Shur-Pel Bentonite Pellets are manufactured from a high yielding untreated, organic free grade of Wyoming

bentonite. The bentonite is then compressed and shaped into a pellet form.  Shur- Pel pellets are available

in 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" diameter.

Advantages

Chemically stable, and are below RCRA limits for

hazardous constituents.



 

High Swelling capacity of 10 to 15 times their dry

volume in fresh water

No heat generated from hydration

Rehydratable

Forms a semi-solid, flexible seal

Permeability range of 1 X 10^-7  to 1 x 10^-9 cm/sec.

Applications

Provides a protective seal between the sand pack, and cement grout.

Seals abandoned boreholes and wells.

Recommended Usage

For shallow applications, slowly and steadily pour the Shur-Pel pellets to prevent blocking

and bridging.

 

For deep applications, the Shur-Pel pellets are added to water or air and pumped down a

tremie pipe to the desired depth.

Bulk Density:  1/4" = 80.72 lbs / ft³            3/8" = 79.42 lbs / ft³                    1/2" = 75.99 lbs / ft³ 

Shur-Pel Pellets are packaged in a 50 lb. pail.    32 pails per pallet.
